FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Students in all grades have weekly instruction in Spanish. The primary focus for Gr. K-3 is vocabulary acquisition. As students progress through the grades, they begin to learn and apply the structure of the language. Over the course of grades six, seven, and eight, students study the equivalent of one year of high school Spanish, focusing on vocabulary, introductory grammar, speaking, reading and writing. The foreign language program at St. Raymond School is primarily an exposure program with a gradual introduction to the grammar and structure of the language.
