The Development Committee is a standing committee of the Saint Raymond Consultative Board. This committee is responsible for creatively fostering and growing the St. Raymond School Annual Fund and the St. Raymond School Endowment Fund.
Annual Fund 2009-2010
In the fall of 2008, the Saint Raymond School Project Based Annual Fund was started. This program serves as an alternative source of funding for specifically targeted projects that benefit the staff and students of the school. The goal for the inaugural year of this fund was to purchase and install three Promethean Activboards . The fundraising goal for this project was $21,000, raised from appeals to school parents, grandparents, and auction guests. This goal was achieved and the boards are now installed and in use in three of our classrooms.
The project identified for the 2009-2010 annual fund is to purchase a laptop cart of 32 Macintosh computers for use by Kindergarten through fourth grade students. Solicitations for this project will be targeted to school families, grandparents, and parishioners and friends, who attend the school auction in March, 2010.
Endowment 2009-2010
The endowment was established in 2005 as a component of the school’s long-range strategic plan to assure the future of the parish-community school. This permanent fund will eventually provide annual income from interest earned. It will help provide tuition assistance, scholarships, campus improvement, and specifically designated educational projects. To date, funds for the endowment have been generated through several gold tournaments, memorial and honorary gifts, and various additional donations.
The school’s second Walk-a-Thon, an event designed to raise funds for the school’s endowment, will take place on April 18, 2010. An afternoon of fun is planned and will include a Principal’s Challenge, class competition, music, a picnic style lunch, a new Walk-a-Thon t-shirt and more. Last year’s event raised $8500.00; the goal for this year is $12,000. This money will add to the school’s growing endowment fund.
Saint Raymond School has a Five Year Plan and a Case Statement. Both documents give comprehensive overviews of various aspects of the school, including enrollment, staffing, curriculum, census information about the school’s population, and buildings and grounds.
